Newton Medical Center (NMC) announces the addition of family physician Margaret Yoder, DO. Dr. Yoder joins Gregory Kahrs, MD, and Gary Whiting, PA-C as part of Park City Family Medicine, an NMC clinic.

Originally from Wichita, Dr. Yoder graduated from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia.

“When I first visited Newton Medical Center, I was struck by their culture of community which sets it apart from other hospital systems. The administration, staff and medical personnel exude genuine care for the community they serve and for each individual patient. As a whole, the administration demonstrates a focus on not only preserving but empowering the physician-patient relationship,” said Dr. Yoder. “I am thrilled to begin building a lasting, solid foundation of family medicine in the Park City community.”

“We are very excited to add Dr. Yoder to the Park City Family Medicine clinic,” said Alex Haines, vice president of clinic operations. “Her expertise and passion for caring for the whole person, along with her ties to the area, make her a perfect addition to the clinic.”

Prior to joining Newton Medical Center, Dr. Yoder completed her residency in family medicine through the St. Luke’s University Health System in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In her final year, peers and faculty elected Dr. Yoder as chief resident of the family medicine residency program.

With special interests in pediatrics, women’s health and chronic disease prevention, Dr. Yoder is passionate about caring for patients throughout all stages of life.

“As a family physician, I hope to establish positive relationships and work with my patients to improve their health and lives by practicing high-quality, evidence-based medicine,” said Dr. Yoder. “For me, medicine is most powerful when I sit across from a person I have just met and seek to understand who they are, why they are here, and what I can do to help them now and for the rest of their life. It is here, with this relational foundation, that stories converge and healing becomes possible.”

Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Yoder is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Yoder is currently accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Yoder, call Park City Family Medicine at 316-440-4466.
