Newton Medical Center (NMC) announces the addition of full-time pulmonology services. John Flesher, MD, is now seeing patients in the hospital’s Medical Office Plaza building.
“The addition of Dr. Flesher, and his expertise, enables NMC to provide our community with a pulmonary program that is capable of treating our population without having to leave the Newton area,” said Brad Yazell, director of therapy services. “It’s exciting to be able to offer this service and level of care that allows patients to stay close to home.”
A native of Wichita, Dr. Flesher completed his undergraduate degree at Wichita State University before attending medical school and completing an internal medicine residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He then completed fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Dr. Flesher returned to Wichita in 2004 and started practicing pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Dr. Flesher is board certified in internal medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).
